What is the Corporate Health and Safety Policy?

An employer which employs more than 5 employees needs to have certain arrangements, procedures or rules in place to make sure that we all carry out  day to day business in a safe manner. Details of which should be contained in a Health and Safety policy document. It must be written down and made available to all members of staff

The Corporate Health and Safety policy sets out the general approach and commitment together with the arrangements put in place for managing health and safety across the Authority. It is a unique document that states who does what, when and how with all other supporting H&S policies.

Due to the diversity of the organisation it may be necessary for  individual Service Areas to set in place  arrangements  to comply with Corporate Health and Safety Policy.

Corporate Health and Safety Policy

This Policy , the  management structure and arrangements that support it, assist in achieving  the three Corporate Priorities by reducing injury,  loss and promoting a healthy workforce.

This policy supports making Swansea safer and more secure for all. It will help reduce injuries and ill health to employees;  to Service Users and  the wider public. It aims to maximise Employee wellbeing and encourages the continual improvement of the Organisation’s Health and Safety culture.
